If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.

Lead The Field by Earl Nightingale

Lead The Field

If the grass is greener on the other side it’s probably getting better care. Success is a matter of sticking to a set of common sense principles anyone can master. Here are twelve ideas to help you lead the field, any field you choose.

The Magic Word
“Attitude” is the magic word. You are responsible for how your life turns out, and your attitude shapes that life for better or worse. Develop a winning attitude. Each of us creates his or her own life largely by our attitude. We all want good results. A healthy attitude is our best guarantee. Attitude is defined as the position or bearing as indicating action, feeling or mood. And it is our actions, feelings or moods that determine the actions, feelings and moods of others. Our attitude tells the world what we expect in return. Make yours expectant and cheerful. You get what you expect. You can control your attitude. Set it each morning. The world will reflect back to you the attitude you present to them. It is then, our attitude toward life that determines life’s attitude toward us. We get back what we put out. Others treat us as we treat them. They react to us. They only give us back a reflection of our own attitude. Our

THE STRANGEST SECRET by Earl Nightingale

Do you know what will happen to 100 individuals who start even at the age of 25, and

who believe they will be successful? By the age of 65, only five out of 100 will make the grade! Why do so many fail? What happened to the sparkle that was there when they were 25? What became of their dreams, their hopes, their plans ... and why is
there such a large disparity between what theses people intended to do and what they actually accomplished? That is ... The Strangest Secret.

Psycho Cybernetics: The Power of Deep Desire

Rational thought, to be effective in changing belief and behavior, must be accompanied by deep feeling and desire.
Picture to yourself what you would like to be and have, and assume for the moment that such things might be possible. Arouse a deep desire for these things. Become enthusiastic about them. Dwell upon them-and keep going over them in your mind. Your present negative beliefs were formed by thought plus feelings. Generate enough emotion, or deep feeling, and your new thoughts and ideas will cancel them out.
If you will analyze this you will see that you are using a process you have often used before-worry! The only difference is you change your goals from negative to positive. When you worry, you first of

Attitude; Lead the Field

First, it's our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which more than anything else will bring about its successful outcome.

Secondly, our attitudes towards others determines their attitudes toward us. We're all interdependent. The success we achieve in life will depend largely on how well we relate to others.

Thirdly, before you can achieve the kind of life you want, you must think, act, talk, and conduct yourself in all  of your affairs, as would the person you wish to become. Keep a mental picture of that person before you as often as you can during during the day.

Turning what you think into reality

"Hold a picture of yourself long and steadily enough in your mind's eye and you will be drawn toward it," said Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdick. "Picture yourself vividly as defeated and that alone will make victory impossible. Picture yourself vividly as winning and that alone will contribute immeasurably to success. Great living starts with a picture held in your imagination, of what you would like to do or be."
Your present self-image was built upon your own imagination pictures of yourself in the past which grew out of interpretations and evaluations

Self-Image: Its Value

This self-image becomes a golden key to living a better life because of two important discoveries:
1. All your actions, feelings, behavior-even your abilities-are always consistent with this self-image.
In short, you will "act like" the sort of person you conceive yourself to be. Not only this,  but you literally  cannot act otherwise, in spite of all your conscious efforts or will power. The man who conceives himself to be a "failure-type-person" will find some way to fail, in spite of all his good intentions, or his will power, even if opportunity is literally dumped in his lap. The person who conceives himself to be a victim of injustice, one "who was meant to suffer," will invariably find

Ways to Enable your Success Mechanism

You do need to be familiar with the following, however, because having memorized, they will throw "new light" on what is to follow:
1. Your built-in success mechanism must have a goal or "target." This goal, or target, must be conceived of as "already in existence by either (1) steering you to a goal already in existence or by (2) "discovering" something already in existence.

2. The automatic mechanism is teleological, that is, operates, or must be oriented to "end results," goals. Do not be discouraged because the "means whereby" may not be apparent. It is the function of the automatic mechanism to supply the "means whereby" when you supply the goal. Think in terms of the end result, and the means whereby will often take care of themselves.

The Secret of "Hypnotic Power"

Dr. Theodore Xenophon Barber has conducted extensive research into the phenomena of hypnosis, both when he was associated with the psychology department of American University in Washington, D.C, and also after becoming associated with the Laboratory of Social Relations at Harvard. Writing in Science Digest recently he said:
"We found that hypnotic subjects are able to do surprising things only when convinced that the
